Why the numbers here are trustworthy
- Every requirement is sourced. Each page links the official government page it came from, and shows the date it was last checked.
- Nothing is guessed.Where an authority’s page could not be read, the limit is left out and flagged rather than filled in with a plausible-looking number.
- Failures are reported.If your photo can’t meet a limit, you are told why instead of being handed a file that gets rejected.
Not here yet
These are deliberately missing rather than quietly approximated:
- Canada (IRCC) — canada.ca returns HTTP 403 to automated requests.
- Schengen area (EU member states) — No single authoritative digital-photo spec: the ICAO baseline is shared but consulates publish their own limits.
